[AusRace] The Forecast Method - a system

You sent your money ($20) to a P O box at Woodburn and included a stamped
addressed envelope. You could buy stamps to that value too and include them.

Money orders were not acceptable, no cheques neither. No correspondence
would be entered into. If it wasn't done right your remittance would be
returned in the envelope.

This was the granite-like countenance of 60-70's racecourse system selling.
Tough, uncompromising, courting an image as such and overall, give us your
money and piss off.

I didn't pay for my copy if you were wondering.

IT WENT LIKE THIS

In each race under consideration

(i) ascertain the runners in the first three barriers - barriers 1,2, 3
(ii ascertain the runners in the widest three barriers

Back the linked runners in forecast quinellas, there are two races like this
on each card (this was then though)

Double your bet on the second race ($4.50 > $9.00) using the returns from
your winnings. ($0.50 units then)

The hoped for result is for barriers 1,2,3 to win, and for the widest
barriers to run second. It must be so, they said it.

The results are for quinellas, a softer, kinder, bet - and much more likely
to snaffle a dividend too

You paid $50 for a typed page essentially - the Q was busted and it came
over as O with the bottom right quadrant missing - well I thought it was
funny.

MR8 2/5 7.20/11.30
MR7 2/5 41.60/141.50

+++++++++++++++++
AR5 1,2,8/5,3,6 - RESULT 2,6,3 22/34.90 - a built in result, there were 6
runners and you needed the first three to win, and the second three to run
second - th

Other results not shown, maidens, jumpers, etc races not considered. There
were other system wins, just in the lower dividend range.

I have often thought that a quinella bet should be doubled, meaning you have
to set an exacta as ab, ba at a dollar and yes the dividend is better
(often) but not twice as better!
If your selections had win div resrictions also, that may improve the strike
rate - say select nothing over $25, and move onto the next selection if so.

Another way

Cheers

Tony
