RACE 7: The TAB Everest 1200m:
N. Rawiller added that Eduardo enjoyed a good run behind the leaders with cover, however in the straight was unable to pick up the winner, Nature Strip despite having every opportunity to do so. N. Rawiller pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on nine occasions prior to the 100m. N. Rawiller's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday 17 October 2021 and to expire on Friday 29 October 2021 on which day he may ride. In addition, N. Rawiller was fined $20,000.

As I watched this race and backed Nature Strip anyway, I was absolutely sure that James McDonald would do some time for overuse of the whip in the concluding stages, however not a mention of it in the Stewards Report. Perhaps it was because he was whacking away on the blind side near the rail, but I find it highly questionable that Rawiller copped it on Eduardo but no mention of James McDonald's actions.
