But at least they include jockey changes in the Stewards Report, unlike
Doomben yesterday.

 

Doo 5/11 I have from one source ridden by LVCassidy, from another MDuPlessi,
so I go to Racing Queensland, and look at the Stewards Report - zero
information on jockey changes; "surely" there was at least one! Their
results show LVC. 

 

But TAB results shows MDuPlessi. 

 

Watched the replay, but no clear view of the name on the jockey's pants.

 

Look around for a hint, I see that Doo 6/7, originally to be ridden by LVC
is given by both RacingQ and TAB as MMcGillivray. LVC injured? Apparently
not as he apparently rode in Race 7. Both 5/11 and 6/7 on minimum of 54kg.
LVC could not make the weight? But no fine recorded in Stewards Report.

 

Surely it is incumbent on the Stewards to report jockey changes.

I believe the provision of horse racing form will continue unaffected
(although during the next 6 months there will be a transition to new

For a while way back I had a neighbor who was a jockey - he now drives a
truck in FNQ.
I first really got to know him when a girl he knew fell out of my nectarine
tree, then she walked into my pool!

'Buzz', the jockey, couldn't see over the side fence, but he knew when my
kids were in the pool, as did the neighbourhood to be fair,
And certainly when we had bbq he was there often although he scootered
around to do this.

He left school to be a mailman, with a trolley down the main road, not on a
bike, not yet.

He also delivered telegrams, including those to the pine mill on the
outskirts of the town, and once he returned a horse he found to
the horse people next to the mill. They told him he was tall enough to be a
jockey which was a first, for him.

Those same horse people then got him an introduction to a man at Bullaring,
a breaker and it was there Buzz learnt to ride, and whip them, and within
a year, not yet 17, he was apprenticed and rode in his first race and won
his third ride. 

Buzz said he was instructed, told, to use the whip and he would be
criticized if he didn't. He also spoke about easing, which doesn't occur,
but is seen
often when the majority of the field finish in a clump about 6 lengths back.

He was moderately successful for several years and had handsome friends, his
21st show had more ponytails than St Hilda's graduation, and these on the
boys.

His father bet on his rides and recommendations and they moved house and by
age 25 it was finished. Weight, loss of favour, speculation, dis-interest,
whatever caused him to leave the industry and travel for a while.

Some have ?recovered? but have ongoing permanent damage. Why? Because the US is all about freedom, and none of New Zealand nor Australia?s measures have been implemented as mandatory.

FACT: People should NOT wear masks while exercising  (their capitals)

The WHO link illustrates exercise with a woman wearing normal clothing casually riding a commuter, not racing, bicycle while sitting erect and a man wearing non-sports clothing doing stretches or other light exercise in a park. The WHO is not talking about intense exercise, just everyday physical activity.

For elderly (that's us Mike), a walk around the block is exercise, but they are the very ones most targeted and advised/forced to wear masks. According to the WHO, they SHOULD NOT be wearing masks.

My wife has proven very adept at identifying female jockeys from a SKY
broadcast on a laptop screen. She knows even less than I about who is M or F
or who is riding what and cares just as little, but she reckons females get
their bums up higher. I'd guess that's due to females extra flexibility, or
maybe she's just fluking it.

There is much more to living than being alive:

 

My 93yo mother is not allowed out of her room in aged care, except once a day to do her laundry, carefully scheduled so only one at a time can be in the laundry - like she will do laundry every day?

 

In a normal week a grandson and wife visit her Tuesday evening, a son and daughter-in-law on Thursday evening, on Sunday a son or daughter or both take her to Church and lunch afterwards, she eats lunch and dinner in the hall with other oldies every day but Sunday lunch and Tue and Thu dinner, I have the paper delivered for her and she reads that and does the crosswords, and potters around the large complex (she used to own a 2-bedroom independent living villa there). 

 

Now NOTHING. No fresh air, no sunshine, no paper deliveries - she blamed the paper man for it not coming yesterday and did not understand when I told her a few times that it's the government, not the small business man who has stopped delivery . Does not watch much TV - does not hear so well - and without the paper cannot even find out why she is  imprisoned, when she'll get out??

 

She can't even peek at the sky out the back door as there is none. She reckons she'll read the Bible. How many times?

Each to their own. Personally I've always thought it was media flu and no
more dangerous than any other seasonal flu.
Our gormless legislators over reacted initially and then rather than lose
face had to keep doubling down. It also appealed to their unsavoury power
urges and what with one thing and another, we are where we are today.
I  thought the normal procedure in similar circumstances was to isolate the
sick, not the healthy. Given the scandal around financial incentives for
the medical establishment to claim "covid deaths" and the absurdity of the
PCR tests, I'd say we've all been played. The great "reset" is a hand.

In case anyone in NSW or Vic has not noticed, their TABs are giving money
back (up to $50) for 2nd-5th on Ballarat and Kembla Races 1-6; TAB SA (and I
presume Qld) only get the promo for 2nd and 3rd. But last Saturday we had
$50 refund 2nd and 3rd for 51 races.  Very positive mathematical
expectations.

She might be a good judge. I reckon J Kah points her arse further skywards
than most. In fact it reminds me a bit of how Lester Piggott used to look
on a horse. They reckoned he got his weight over the horse's centre of
gravity (whatever that meant) and thus they travelled better for him.
Sounded a bit esoteric for me but perhaps the horsemen amongst us can
proffer an opinion.

Actually, physically Female jockeys have wider bums than their Male counterparts.
It takes a keen eye and the right angle to see the difference, but it is there.
