EML shares surge on bet365 card contract

Shares in Aussie payment tech company EML Payments are trading more than 12
per cent higher after it announced a deal to provide a reloadable betting
card to bet365's US customers.

The launch of the branded bet365 card in New Jersey - where sports betting
has only recently been legalised - will be the 13th branded reloadable
prepaid program in the gaming industry EML is managing across Australia,
Europe, the UK and the US.

Shares in EML rose by 22 cents, or 12.6 per cent, to $1.96 on the ASX at
1055 AEST on Tuesday - up 62 per cent from $1.21 a year ago.

Under the agreement, EML will give bet365 customers a reloadable card to
both remit funds into their gaming account, alongside the existing ability
to access winnings.

The initial program in New Jersey is expected to launch in mid-2019
following regulatory approvals.

The partnership has the potential to expand as bet365 moves into other US
states, EML said on Tuesday.

bet365 is recognised as the world's largest online sports betting company,
with revenues of more than $US3 billion and 4,000-plus employees.
