I would like to store descriptions of individual track 'shapes' in a database for each track/dist pair...
So, for example, the length of the straight from the jump to the first turn, the degree of the turn, length of the second straight, degree of the second turn, length of the final straight. Also the running direction, width of the track, and ideally (just to make it more challenging), I would like to be able to store the track undulation (so the image would effectively be in 3D). I need it in such a way that two track/dist courses can be compared for 'sameness'. I want to test the "horses for courses" theory.
CAD software does it, so there must be a way... (biezier?)
Any suggestions on how to do it would be most welcolme.
Regards
